Another Daisho DJ Update!

Once again, Daisho Con is very excited to announce our DJs for 2013! And it’s Friday, which means we are announcing our next DJ.

Today we are proud to present our next DJ! DJ Jeffito!

Ever since he started in 2009, DJ Jeffito has been performing non-stop, proving that no matter what the event, DJ Jeffito will bring life to the party. Known for performing at anime convention raves, DJing for large events, such as Anime Central’s Soap Bubble which houses 8,000+ attendees each year, all the way to smaller events, such as online radio shows like the Allkore Riot Show, DJ Jeffito has solidified his role as a talented and versatile DJ.

Growing up in Chicago, DJ Jeffito has had a strong passion for house music, and it shows in his weekly house sets on his Soundcloud that he’s devoted his life to understanding a genre that he has grown to love. His dedication to house music also shows in his performances and will continue to grow in the future that lies ahead.

Today we are proud to present our first DJ! DJ Ravine!

A hardcore junkie, Ravine first discovered Hardcore upon browsing the internets for new dance music stations. Now, instead searching for Hardcore on the interwebs, he IS hardcore on the interwebs! A quick Google search of DJ Ravine will let you experience his crafty cuts and scratches as well as quick and quirky mixing first hand. Jumping from Hard Electro, to Dubstep, to Hardstyle, all the way to Hardcore, his mixes will keep you entranced and moving til morning! His achievements include having released the Hardcore Addiction compilations, a weekly radio show and an amazing Youtube, Facebook and Instagram presence. Ravine definitely has the qualifications to rock your world! Besides, 130,000 fans can’t be wrong!

Daisho Con is proud to announce that we are returning to the Kalahari Resort and Water Park in Wisconsin Dells for our sixth year!

Of course, we are opening our super-cheap early-bird registration to our most faithful followers! We pride ourselves with having the best quality you can get, and we offer it to you at an extremely affordable early registration price of just fifteen dollars!

This deal will not last forever! We’ll be opening up regular registration after April 15th! Naturally, our regular registration price is still too good to pass up, but try to register as soon as possible!

This year, expect some of the biggest announcements you’ve ever heard from Daisho Con! We have some big guest announcements, brand new events, and other huge updates that you won’t want to miss out on! Keep your eyes tuned to our blog for more details!  There will be so much stuff going on, we dare you to catch it all!  Our dances are growing bigger, our tournaments are more intense, and we are inviting more guests from different areas of geek fandom!

This year, we’re also bringing back our successful VIP program! Last year, we set a limit to twenty people and filled every spot (plus more), and this year we are increasing the number of spots and perks! For an additional contribution to our convention, you can get sweet extra benefits that include no lines for the cosplay contest and meeting the guests! If you want to join the elite club of Daisho’s VIP, sign up ASAP! Spots go quickly!

Every year, we open up our doors to talented craftspeople and merchants, and every year we are amazed by the quality of business and art that is attracted to our convention  With an audience that is growing every year, we hope that you will find Daisho Con to be a perfect venue to sell your geeky anime/sci-fi/gaming/more materials! Our primary goal is to match amazing dealers with an audience that is looking for items they can’t find anywhere else!

If you’re interested in joining Daisho Con staff and are UW-Stevens Point student, stop by the Involvement Fair to learn more about what we can offer you! The involvement fair takes place at the Dreyfus University Center in the Laird Room, Concourse, and Encore on February 13th from 6pm-8pm.

We’re committed to bringing professional opportunities to all of our members, and helping with an event the size of our convention can look great on a resume! We always have lots of volunteer positions available in various areas, from event planning, public relations, business administration, media production, graphic design, costuming, theater tech… the list goes on and on.

Also, you don’t have to be a student to help out! If you aren’t a student (or can’t make it to the Fair), know that we have Monday night staff meetings at 8pm in the lounge area of the Dreyfus University Center. We hope to see you there!

We’re proud to say that this was our biggest year yet, and we have all of you to thank!

This year, we brought you more… more events, more artists, more vendors, more everything!  We also brought you different events, such as swing dancing and miniatures! Our attendance went up, and our staff had a lot of fun bringing people together. Of course, there is always room to come up with improvements, so we will be looking for feedback on how to make Daisho Con 2012 even better!
